Born in Hawai'i, raised in the Philippines, and based in Los Angeles, Alex Williamson has been composing for media since 2008.

After graduating from Stanford University, Alex worked as assistant to fellow alumnus Christopher Tin (Civilization series) during the creation of the Grammy-winning concept album Calling All Dawns. He has since collaborated frequently with Christopher as an additional composer and arranger on many projects, including Civilization VI.

A foray into advertising begun in 2012 has since seen Alex's work featured in campaigns from clients including Coca-Cola, Ford, Bud Light, Maybelline, Sears, Old Navy, the Ad Council, Lexus, Norton Security, Blue Apron, Honda, GNC, Sagami, UPS, Carling, Lindt, B&Q, and USPS. In consecutive years, Alex's music appeared in Super Bowl spots by LG and Princess Cruises, respectively.

Alex provided the score for the Emmy-winning digital series The Bay until 2015. His recent scoring projects include the multi-continent political documentary Freedom for the Wolf and the upcoming series How the World Went Mad.
